GANG VIOLENCE

What is the problem?

The problem is that there is a huge number of gangs in North America alone. People are getting hurt and killed by gangs all over the country. There is gang activity in every city in America with over 250,000 people. Less populated areas have less gang activity but there is still a lot. Gang violence hurts more people every day.

Gang violence statistics

  •  100% of cities with over 250, 000 people have reported gang violence
  • people involved in gangs are 60% more likely to be killed than anyone else
  • 40% of gang members are under 18
  • There are over 24,000 gangs in the U.S.
  •  There are over 772,500 gang members in the U.S.
  • 35% of suburban areas reported gang violence.

What you can do to help
If you are interested there are many things you can do to help. One way to help is to put up fliers around your area to raise awareness. This will tell a lot of people about the topic quickly. The more people that know about gang violence the better. Another way to help is to start a website like this one. People from anywhere can see the information and get motivated to do something.
